A unique piece with a strong Victorian influence. Photo is baby standing on top of a stone podium with his hands clasped together out in front of him. The child, in partial baseball uniform, wears what appears to be a catcher's face mask on his head. He seems to be wearing a white lace hanky around his waist which looks to have been "added" to the photo, rather than actually worn by the child at the time of the shoot. This is a commercial piece, most likely sold in the artist's studio. It is copyrighted, 1888 with the artist's cartouche (F.W. Guerin). In original, elaborate golden Victorian style frame which has been slightly touched up. Measures 22x27".
