Black boxing shoes came out of the collection of Joe Louis’ trainer, Mannie Seamon, originally sold as Lot A131B at Guernseys in April, 1990 (tag from that sale still attached). Size 12, black leather with tan bottoms and original black laces. No manufacturer’s tag and the shoes are in great condition with almost no wear. These were made for Joe Louis, but were probably never worn in a fight or during training. It is possible he wore them for a public appearance. Slight wear to the bottoms and on the inside of each shoe, indicate they were worn briefly. LOA from famed boxing expert, Craig Hamilton.
