On the night of Wayne Gretzky’s induction into the Hall of Fame, the great Maurice “The Rocket Richard presented Wayne with a wonderful bronze sculpture entitled “The Great One 99” by noted artist Sylvie Beauchesne (designer of the Maurice Richard Trophy). To mark the moment, Sylvie crafted three identical letters containing the handwritten presentation speech (in French). This copy, number 3/3 was retained by Sylvie and the other two were presented to Maurice Richard and Wayne Gretzky. This letter, with its ornate gold-foil border, has been signed by Wayne Gretzky, Maurice Richard and the artist. Sylvie has added a number of items she received at the induction ceremonies including a program from the event, a limited coin set featuring the three inductees, an induction brochure signed by Gretzky and four other HOF members, an auction program, and a calendar honoring the inductees.
