It was a Series that proved that momentum can only take you so far; that being the best team in baseball doesn’t guarantee a win. The newly built, powerful Arizona franchise with a team of veterans like Randy Johnson, Curt Schilling, Matt Williams, Craig Counsell, & Steve Finley proved their worth in their first World Series appearance in the D-backs short, four-year history. And so the legacy begins. Defeating the deepest pitching staff in baseball and the best offensive lineup, Arizona came from behind in the ninth inning of Game 7 to claim their first World Championship. This 2001 World Series third base comes straight out of game 4! A special piece of baseball history, it is signed by Yankee third baseman, Scott Brosius. Heavily trampled, but large World Series logo on top of base is intact. Sides bear the MLB logo and the team logos for both the Yankees and the Diamondbacks. Bottom is marked with “WS Game 4 set A” (the rest has been blacked out with marker) and a “RF” with an arrow pointing to right field. “Authentic Game Used” and “MLB Authentication” holograph stickers attached to bottom.
