On May 29, 1909 Battling Nelson of Denmark, one of the toughest lightweights in history, fought Dick Hyland and successfully defended his World Lightweight title. In a display of remarkable stamina, Nelson won the fight by KO in the 23rd round. Oversized photo shows the first knockdown, which occurred in the 20th round. Double matted to 16x27”, photo exhibits some creasing and paper loss towards the center of the photo, exposing white paper, but does not touch the fighters or the referee.
