Lot 818: 1922 & 1930 New York Giants Silver Passes

In 1921, the Polo Grounds was the site for the first one-city series since 1906. The Giants became the first team to come back to win the World Series after losing the first two games. Season pass for the 1922 season is in the shape of a pennant with enameled, “NY Giants 1921 Worlds Champions”. On the verso is engraved, “1922 Thas. J. Healy 139” with “The Giants Bid You Welcome” and “Chas A Stoneham Pres.” in raised lettering. “Lambert Bros.” Stamped in tiny letters below. Measures 2”, EX. 1930 season pass is masterfully crafted out of sterling silver with 3 fans sitting on a park bench with frustrated looks surrounded by captions: “2 out”, “bases full”, “3 balls”, “2 strikes”. Below is “Giants 1930 Chas A. Stoneham Pres.” On verso is engraved “John Joyner 293.” Stamped with “Lambert Bros. NY Sterling”. 1.5x1.75”. EX-MT.
