Lot 550: 1890's New York City Subway Ticket Machine

Enchanting piece of New York City memorabilia. Actual machine used to take tickets in the New York City subway starting at the turn of the century. Wood machine stands nearly five feet tall and has been restored to perfect condition. Mission oak style details bring this mechanized marvel to life. Glass top has been restored with plastic now adorned with the words “Drop Tickets Here” added in gold lettering for display value. Brass trim with the original wood pull handle that causes to drop the tickets when it is pulled. The removable drawer below with further metal ornaments catches them. Elaborate piece even has the original wood top.
