Extremely rare collection of vintage mechanical cast iron banks. We won't vouch for the political correctness of some, but we will for their value as extraordinary antiques. Included: 1) Race Horse Bank. Top grille stamped Patented August 15, 1871. 2) Novelty Bank. Side stamped Pat. June 25, 1872. 3) Frog Bank. Bottom stamped Pat. Feb. 2, 1875. 4) Bull Dog Bank. Stamped on bottom Pat'd Apr 27 1880. 5) Jolly Nigger Mechanical Bank. Stamped Pat. Mar. 4, '82. Base marked Made by Jos. Stevens Co., Cromwell, Conn. 6) Dinah Bank. Bottom stamped Made in England. (Companion to Jolly Nigger Bank). 7) Organ Bank. Back stamped Pat. June 13, 1882. 8) Trick Donkey Bank. Lever tail on back of base operates by dropping pony's head which drops coin into bank; 2.5" wide x 7.5" long x 8" high. Original bronze intact. 9) Punch and Judy Bank. Base marked Buffalo NY-USA. Pat. US July 15, '84 and July 22, '84. 10) Uncle Sam Bank. Bottom stamped Pat. June 8, 1886. 11) Small Safe Bank. Bottom stamped Pat. March 31, 91. 12) William Tell Bank. Bottom stamped Patended June 28, 1896. 13) Globe Bank. Base stamped Enterprise Mfg. Co., Philad'a. Later banks include 14) Fortune Teller Bank. Original silver intact. 15) Wireless Bank (battery operated). Earliest stamp from Nov. 10, 1914. 16) Wild West Bank. No date. 17) Space Age Bank. Plastic. Paint on the banks range approx. 80-85%. Most EX and all fully operational.
