Secretariat Miniature Hand-Painted Pewter

Secretariat Miniature Hand-Painted Pewter

This pewter miniature of “Big Red” is an exquisitely detailed portrayal of the Thoroughbred champion, Secretariat, and comes from the personal collection of his owner Penny Chenery. She was completely smitten with this "Little Red," as she called it, and proudly displayed it in her home as one of her favorite curios. The piece was created by equine miniature specialist Maggie Bennett and hand-painted by acclaimed equine figurine artist Caroline Boydston, who spent countless hours of exacting study and skillful handwork to produce this unique depiction of the 1973 Triple Crown champion. Individually cast from the finest quality lead-free pewter, the artists capture the Meadow Stable champion in perfect miniature scale. The meticulous attention to detail can be seen in the fine art piece, which measures a diminutive 2.5" wide by 2" tall and rests in its own black velvet traveling case.
