Paul Bear Bryant Personally Gifted Herringbone Tweed Hat to Max Bear Jr.
This gray herringbone tweed pattern hat by Adam of New York was worn by legendary college football coach Bear Bryant and then was given to golf buddy and actor Max Baer, Jr., who played Jethro Bodine on the "Beverly Hillbillies" TV show. The hat is Size XL and is minus the trademark feather. The interior shows good use with some small holes. Bryant's widow could not verify with any certainty that the hat was specifically worn by Bear but there is a good chance that was the case due to the matching size to other known examples. All proceeds from this lot go to God's Goods Thrift Shop, and the provenance can be seen on YouTube under: "A Rare Bear Bryant Find In Bluffton."
