Pair of Exceptional Tintypes from Same Family

Pair of Exceptional Tintypes from Same Family

Two beautiful tintypes appearing to date to the early days of baseball. 1) First features a pair of players with great early bats, jerseys and baseball shoes. In original gutta-percha frame with purple velvet. Perfect tone to image and no cracks or scratches. 2) Second features single player with "RS" on front of jersey. Very elaborate clothes - definitely very expensive for the time. "S" in "RS" usually stands for school, but he appears older so it would suggest a college. Original frame is cracked, but image, glass, and setting are still intact.
