Eddie Sweat Signed Photo With Secretariat

Eddie Sweat Signed Photo With Secretariat

This beautiful framed photo would be a perfect compliment to Lawrence Scanlan's book, "The Horse God Built: Secretariat, His Groom, Their Legacy." It features Secretariat and his closest companion - groom Eddie Sweat - at Churchill Downs the week before the Kentucky Derby. Since Sweat died of leukemia in 1998, this is a very tough signature, which rates a perfect 10/10. The photo by Tony Leonard measures 7.5" x 6.5" and is housed in a 15.5" x 16.5" frame. Sweat paired up with the legendary thoroughbred early in his first season of racing and never left his charge's side. The strong yet sensitive Sweat was described as having great "horse sense" and he became perhaps the most famous groom of all-time. The last signed photo we saw brought over $2,700.
