Tommy Holmes, star outfielder and hitter for the Boston Braves, is the subject of this (22) piece wire photo lot. Earliest images show Holmes examining the shiner on teammate Roland Gladu in 1944. Also includes: July 12, 1945 wire report of Holmes' record hit streak halted at 37 by Henry Wyse; laser wire photo of Holmes congratulating Pete Rose after he broke Holmes' record hit streak in 1978; reports from 1951 of Holmes taking over management of the Boston Braves and his subsequent firing in 1952. Most of the photos are EX or better with a small number in VG condition. Sized from 4x10 to 8x12".
