Babe Ruth Signs for Fans Glass Plate Negative by Charles Conlon

Babe Ruth Signs for Fans Glass Plate Negative by Charles Conlon

Original, from the camera, one of a kind glass plate negative from photography giant Charles Conlon depicts Babe Ruth in the dugout at Yankee Stadium before a game of the 1928 World Series, signing baseballs for two young fans. Measuring 5x4", it comes with the original envelope with Conlon's writing, which is also at the top edge of the negative. The Bronx Bombers dominated the St. Louis Cardinals in the '28 series, with the Bambino crashing three homers and batting .625 with 10 hits in the four-game sweep. This gem originates from the Brown Brothers collection, the noted photo archive service founded in 1904.
