1994 Wade Boggs Signed Game Used All Star Bat (PSA)

1994 Wade Boggs Signed Game Used All Star Bat (PSA)

Wade Boggs Louisville Slugger pro-model ("B349") bat specially produced for use in the 1994 MLB All-Star Game, which was held at Three Rivers Stadium in Pittsburgh on July 12th. Accompanied by a full LOA from PSA. The bat, which measures 34.25 inches in length and weighs 32 ounces, features Boggs' facsimile signature stamped on the barrel. The block-letter stampings above and below his name read, respectively, "1994 All-Star Game" and "Pittsburgh Pennsylvania." The bat is not cracked and displays moderate use, including several ball marks (with black-ink transfers) and pine tar on both the lower and upper handle. Boggs' uniform number ("12") is written on the knob in black marker. Boggs has inscribed the bat in black Sharpie (grading 8/10) on the sweet spot of the barrel: "Wade Boggs '94' All Star." As noted in the PSA letter, this was one of three Wade Boggs bats produced by Louisville Slugger for his use in the 1994 fall classic. However, visual evidence shows that this particular bat was not used by Boggs during his three plate appearances in the game. Therefore, the ascribed use most likely occurred during All-Star Game batting practice and/or subsequent regular-season games. Boggs had one hit in the game, which was won by the National League 8-7 in ten innings. One of the greatest hitters of the modern era, Boggs won five American League batting titles during his eighteen-year career and retired with 3,010 hits and a .328 lifetime average. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2005, his first year of eligibility. LOA from PSA.
