1984 John Henry "Horse of the Year" Worn Horse Shoes - Gifted by Trainer

1984 John Henry "Horse of the Year" Worn Horse Shoes - Gifted by Trainer

Offered is a set of horseshoes from 1984 worn by famed thoroughbred John Henry, who was voted Horse of the Year that very year. Originating directly from trainer Ron McAnally at John Henry's stables at Santa Anita Park, they come in their original box signed by Ron, "To Mark, Best of Luck, Ron McAnally 3/30/84." That date is three weeks after John Henry's 5th place finish at Santa Anita. "John Henry" is written on the top of box in pencil, and each shoe has "Thorobred" and "7" with dirt lodged in. The Eclipse Award winner won 39 races in his career, topping $6 million dollars in earnings.
