1969 New York Mets Painting By Arthur Sarnoff

1969 New York Mets Painting By Arthur Sarnoff

After seven seasons of ineptitude, the Mets shocked the world in 1969, dramatically reversing course and winning the World Series over the heavily-favored Baltimore Orioles. To commemorate that phenomenal achievement, famed artist Arthur Sarnoff - one of the 20th Century's greatest American illustrators - painted this Shea Stadium scene with Art Shamsky batting in front of an adoring crowd. Framed to measure 45" x 33", the artwork is in NM-MT condition, though the frame shows some wear.
