1969 MAD Magazine Poster - Alfred E. Neuman Vietnam War Advertisement "Who Needs You"

1969 MAD Magazine Poster - Alfred E. Neuman Vietnam War Advertisement "Who Needs You"

The drawing is signed in the print, "James Montgomery Mingo." Produced by E.C. Publishing, the artist was Norman Mingo (20 January 1896–8 May 1980) who was an American commercial artist and illustrator. James Montgomery Flagg was the most popular illustrator in America in the period. The WWI "Uncle Sam Wants You" recruiting poster was his best-known work. Mingo adds a MAD spin to the Flagg poster, a commentary tailored for the Vietnam War which was going on at the time this poser was produced and the reason for "Who Needs You." It is preserved in absolutely MINT condition which is a rare find!
