1958-59 Bob Armstrong Boston Bruins Game Worn Wool Sweater (Bobby Orr Retired Number)

1958-59 Bob Armstrong Boston Bruins Game Worn Wool Sweater (Bobby Orr Retired Number)

Hard-hitting defenseman Bob Armstrong was appropriately named as he was one of the sport's major scrappers, engaging in a multitude of fights. A mainstay on the Boston Bruins' blue line for each of his 542 career NHL games, Armstrong wore this terrific vintage wool jersey during the 1958-59 season, which saw the B's go 32-29-9. It includes a Size 48 tag and the #4 that would be issued to the legendary Bobby Orr seven years later and then retired. Armstrong managed a goal and nine assists for the Bruins during the 1958-59 season, his eighth of 11 in Boston. The super sweater shows great use with a few pull marks and likely blood stain on the bottom.
