1957 Ted Williams Hickok Award Belt

1957 Ted Williams Hickok Award Belt

“Dear Ted,” the included letter from Ray Hickok reads, “Congratulations! I have been informed that the Committee of 250 Sportswriters and Sportscasters throughout the United States has voted you the winner of the Hickok Professional Athlete Award for the month of July…” It seems that The Kid never actually wore the belt though—the condition of it (and of its included case) is as-new. Probably he just admired its beauty, as will you upon seeing it. The face of the buckle has a DaVinci-esque figure at center, with engraved text reading, “S. Rae Hickok Award, Professional Athlete, T.W.” Back is engraved in bold block capitals, “Hickok Champion July 1957, Ted Williams, Baseball.” Buckle is attached to original alligator belt. Comes in a gorgeous green Hickok case with satin interior. A rare opportunity to own a very prestigious award presented to perhaps the greatest hitter in the history of the sport. Included is original mailing envelope for letter from Hickok with “Mr. Ted Williams” printed on the front.
