1957 Brooklyn Dodgers Last Game at Ebbets Field Full Ticket PSA NM-MT 8 (Pop 1 of 2 Highest Graded)

The Brooklyn Major League franchise began play in 1884 as the Brooklyn Atlantics. Eventually the team became known as the Dodgers, and Ebbets Field became their home. Presented is a pass from the Brooklyn Dodger Base Ball Club for the Dodgers' last ever game at Ebbets Field, the final home game of the 1957 season on September 24th. The Dodgers plans to move to Los Angeles after the season were public knowledge, and only 6,702 fans attended the game. The Dodgers young left-hander, Danny McDevitt, pitched a complete game shutout as the Dodgers won 2-0. Elmer Valo and Hall of famer Gil Hodges had the Dodgers RBIs. Hall of Famer Roy Campanella caught the first part of the game for Brooklyn, and Hall of Famer shortstop Pee Wee Reese made a late game appearance at third base. Gil Hodges started the game at third base (the position he played in his first game as a Dodger) and then moved to first base. Hall of Fame center fielder Duke Snider sat out the game. Hall of Famers playing for Pittsburgh were Roberto Clemente and Bill Mazeroski. The ticket pass measures 2.5x5.5", reads in part, "The Brooklyn National League Base Ball Club/Enter turnstile A - Press Gate/1957." In two places, the pass is stamped "SEP 24 1957." The pass has been encapsulated and PSA graded FULL NM-MT 8. The pass shows some slight toning and is in otherwise excellent condition. In 1957, the Dodgers finished in third place and in 1958 they were playing in Los Angeles. The pass serves as a poignant remembrance of the storied Brooklyn Dodgers.
