1949 Lefty O'Doul Day Full Ticket from SF Seals Tour of Japan (PSA/DNA 1.5)

1949 Lefty O'Doul Day Full Ticket from SF Seals Tour of Japan (PSA/DNA 1.5)

An amazing amount of history is associated with this one baseball ticket stub. In 1949, the horrors of World War II were still fresh and Japan struggled to rebuild its nation. Hall of Famer Lefty O'Doul brought his San Francisco Seals - a Pacific Coast League team that contained many Major League-caliber players - on a Goodwill Tour of Japan for a series of games credited with helping to restore relations between the nations. This stub is from Lefty O'Doul Day and is dated October 22, 1949, as the Seals faced an All-Star team of players from the US Army and Navy. The stub is PSA encapsulated as authentic, graded FR 1.5, though that is a tough rating. There are a pair of stamps on the front, and the ticket displays quite nicely.
