1943 NL All-Stars Signed Baseball

1943 NL All-Stars Signed Baseball

Signed orb from the 1943 All-Star Game, held in Philly's Shibe Park, has a certain charm as a symbol of the game's pluck and continuity in the face of wartime shortages. Though there were few big names among the 24 NLers who signed the OAL (Harridge) ball, there's still Musial (1st of 24 straight All-Star Games), Ott, Vandermeer, Galan, Herman, Dahlgren, Fletcher, Cooper, Kurowski, Passeau, Southworth, and DiMaggio -- Vince, that is, who had a single, triple and homer in the NL's 5-3 loss. Sigs average 5-6, ball VG with an even toning.
