1910 "Swastika" Baseball Jersey, Pants, Belt and Hat

1910 "Swastika" Baseball Jersey, Pants, Belt and Hat

During the early 20th century, the swastika became a popular symbol of luck in the Western world. Circa 1912, there was a Class D baseball team in the Rocky Mountain League called the Canon City (CO) Swastikas. In this lot we have a vintage baseball jersey, cap, pants and belt; the henley jersey is lettered "SWASTIKA" down the button placket and a very worn and incomplete swastika is sewn on the left sleeve. The jersey is stained, the pants are torn and stained, the belt is frayed and the leather end of the belt has broken off, but this uniform is a rare find in any condition. There is no labeling or tagging of any kind, and the lot comes with a black and orange swastika armband.
