1905 Marvin Hart vs. Jack Root Unused Ticket

On July 3, 1905, at the Reno Athletic Association, heavyweights Marvin Hart and Jack Root fought to determine who would be the World Heavyweight Champion. The prior champion, James Jeffries, had retired and virtually named these two men as the fighters to decide who would be champion. Jeffries refereed the fight. Hart stopped Root in the 12th round to win the controversial title. Presented here is a full, unused ticket to the event. In EX condition, it is one of only a few we know of. Stub firmly attached. Minor soiling on reverse. No creases or tears.
