1904 Sysonby Poisoned Program

1904 Sysonby Poisoned Program

Here is an early program from the short, but illustrious career of Sysonby, who died under nefarious circumstances in 1906 when he was just four years old. He died of blood poisoning, and they did find out that his lungs were twice the size of those of an ordinary horse until they performed the autopsy. Program is from a 2-year old stake race held by the Coney Island Jockey Club in Sheepshead Bay on August 27th 1904, in which Sysonby ran the third race. Program is in EX condition, it's appearance is higher, but it has been heavily penciled in, measures 3.5x8" and is 14 pages.
